Vellum theme docs
Getting started
How to install Vellum on a Shopify store and find your way around the theme editor.
Installing the theme
- In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Click Add theme > Upload zip file (or, if installed from the Shopify Theme Store, click Add theme from the listing).
- Once uploaded, click Customize to open the theme editor and confirm the homepage renders correctly before publishing.
- When you're ready to go live, click Actions > Publish.
Before publishing. Set the theme's global settings first — see below — so the homepage and header/footer aren't showing placeholder content when shoppers see it live.
Global theme settings
Open Theme settings at the bottom of the left-hand panel in the theme editor. This is where store-wide options live, separate from individual section settings:
- Brand — logo, favicon.
- Colors — the shared color scheme swatches every section picks from.
- Typography — heading and body fonts.
- Cart — page vs. drawer behavior.
- Model shopping — one switch, "Enable iPhone model shopping" (off by default), that turns the model selector, the "which iPhone" bar, and model-aware filtering/auto-select on across the homepage, collections, search, product pages, and the Find Your Model / Fit Guide pages. See the Model selector and Product section pages, and this theme's
docs/model-shopping-flow.md, for how shoppers use it and how to add models. - Support — the WhatsApp number and support hours shown across help/contact/fit-guide sections.
Building pages with sections
Every page in Vellum is built from sections you add, remove, and reorder in the theme editor. See the sections reference for what each one does and which settings/blocks it exposes.
Customer accounts
Vellum uses Shopify's new customer accounts system. Sign-in, order history, and address management are hosted by Shopify itself — there's nothing to configure in the theme beyond the account menu shown in the header (Theme settings > Header > Customer account menu).
